Hi! I’m Erik D'Ercole, a web developer (mainly backend) and I live in Liguria, Italy, a region I deeply love. I have been working as a web developer (mostly backend) for over 20 years. I am a co-founder of Encodia, a web agency located in Arma di Taggia (Liguria, Italy) through which we provide consulting and development services: web sites, web applications, hosting, SEO and SEM, social media management, ADS.

Some of the topics I’m passionate about and work on every day:

I like to keep up to date and tinker with technologies, languages, and products — without, however, chasing or using the latest trends at all costs. In 2002 I earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with full marks and honors (110/110 cum laude) from the University of Turin. Still, I am firmly convinced that in the IT world academic degrees matter little compared to the skills acquired in the field, the result of countless hours of dedication, self-learning, and - above all - passion for the subject.

Among my passions, music comes first: I am a former musician (piano, organ, electric guitar, clarinet), and Spotify is always playing on one device or another from dawn til dusk.

In my free time I love reading (both novels and technical books), watching tv series and traveling.
